The Mod3DConstruction project is a collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho, bringing together complementary expertise in advanced construction technologies and shared experience in 3D concrete printing (3DCP). In this partnership, FEUP contributes with technical knowledge in thermal performance and material design, while the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho provides strong capabilities in parametric and computational design. The project aims to integrate modular building systems with digital design and additive manufacturing to develop customizable, thermally optimised façade panels, improving efficiency, reducing material waste, and promoting more sustainable, adaptable architectural solutions. Additionally, the developed panel is intended to be designed with future industrial implementation in mind, specifically targeting its application and scaling by the company KREAR.
